I have had very bad luck, and wished I had found lovely Mama Shan earlier. Great tuts-- I learned more in few days watching your tuts than the 3 years going to colleges, thanks for making them. I'm going to make some videos of me doing your tuts to show people how easy it is to follow your instructions. If I can do it any one can. You are just brilliant teacher!

I've been doing quite a bit of one-on-one coaching/training lately. When I teach retouching and workflow, I've been showing Mama Shan's Fab Foundations, from the Nu-Glam set which I use to smooth skin. I like it better than anything that I've ever played around with!"

I have to say I've been a huge fan of yours way back...what 4 years ago. Way before the word action was a mainstream industry term..at least for me. I've played with, tested, liked then got bored with the other actions out there. BUT I always go back to my Mama Shan! You are a rock star!

I just wanted to tell you how amazing I find Pindora! Not only that amazing actions, but the education that comes with it. Every action is clearly explained how to use it, how to adjust etc... it is truly right out of the box use. I have bought many actions from other vendors that I still cant make work! I will certainly be back for more! THANK YOU!

Today decided I would try to express my true belief in Mama Shan’s Art Sampler .
I am a self taught photographer and have never had any training in
Photoshop but at the same time feel comfortable with my abilities in
both photography and Photoshop. In the past I hated actions because as a
rule they are developed by a person based on his or her style and only
work on certain images that fall in these general conditions. It was
always a hit and miss game. Every image is different and it needs to be
treated differently. With that being said most photographers tend to
have a certain style that does not alter much--the image content will
alter but the style remains the same. I am sure those of us who are
members of Mama Shan's Art Sampler Artist's Group, have
all noticed that you can see a photo of some artist even if they don’t
sign it and know who did it based on the unique style they have. In the
past to make a action work I would have to change my style based on
knowing what alterations a action makes on a photo. With the art sampler
it is just the opposite because you have more control over how the
action effects the photo. This means I can continue with my style and
only have to find a recipe that suits that style but a recipe that works
for one person may not work with another person because they shoot a
totally different style i.e. Background, Lighting Ratio’s and F stops
etc.
Mama Shan's Art Sampler is not what I consider
automatic actions but that is what I love about them because once I find
my personal recipe based on my style it does not alter and it gives me
the tools to do my image in a few minutes and not a few hours. I look at
fellow member Marchhair's Litho’s and Rockwell’s and fall in love with
them but I can not emulate it on my images because it is not my style. I
would have to change my own style and recipe to be consistent. In no
way do I want to down play the actions I just want to emphasis it is
only part of the end result the first part comes before you snap the
shutter based on your style, content and lighting ratios. Once you
develop a style good or bad the consistence will set in and you will
develop a recipe for that style… In my opinion, Mama Shan's Art Sampler is the best tool to help you develop and create your style short of professional schooling and training.
One last shameless plug if you shoot portraits and do not own the Mama Shan's Studio Portrait Pack
you should consider it. I use it on 75% of my images. Can I do it
without the Studio Portrait Pack? Yes but not nearly as fast and time is
money in a studio.

Mama's Retouching Bundle (Mac/Win)
Mama's Retouching Bundle is jam-packed with powerful Photoshop add-ins and insightful video tutorials covering a wide variety of retouching effects that can be applied to professional and amateur glamour shots. The single DVD holds more than eight hours of step-by-step instruction led by Mama Shan, the undeclared queen of the Photoshop beauty salon, whose techniques for enhancing glamour portraits truly put her in a category by herself. We have not seen any package that approaches the depth and breath of procedures, methods, and tools for glamour retouching as this one does.
Mama Shan provides Photoshop Actions and tools for applying a complete range of image-based beauty treatments, including hair dying, face powder, rouge, lipstick, lip gloss, tanner, teeth whitener, eyelashes, Rosacea reduction, and dozens of effects that can radically improve the appearance of a digital female model image. The disc includes all of the images used in the tutorials so that the viewer can follow along with each demonstration. Photoshop Actions are loaded into the Photoshop application and can be applied as needed. The Actions are presented as a series of steps that are pre-programmed, and executed in order. They greatly simplify complex techniques and speed the application of repetitive operations. Mama Shan's Actions represent her expertise encapsulated for instant replay, and her tutorials are always available as a refresher course.
The bundle includes Mama's Studio Portrait Pack of Actions, Lenoir's Full Pack of Lash Brushes, Mama's Rosacea Reduction Kit, Mama's Combo Pack of Cross-Processing Actions, and Mama's Retouching Bundle DVD, and more. It is the single source for enhancing Photoshop to deliver a full range of functionality for retouching glamour shots.

"Love looking at the videos that Mama Shan has online......just
wish I had more time to watch them over and over. Lots of shortcuts in
the videos! The actions loaded with out any problems real simple to load
and use. We are adding more of Mama's Actions to our workflow on a
weekly basis. So far we have used the Mama's Rouge, Mama's Lipstick and
Mama's Tanners actions the most. Can't wait to try them all. We also got
the Lenoir Full-pack of Lashes, but have not used them yet, but we
will.
I would recommend Mama's Studio Portrait Pack to save you time which is money and to improve your images."

"We received Mama's Studio Portrait Pack in a very timely fashion and found it to be very user friendly. While there were a few actions that I didn't really understand, I did learn to use them properly after I revisited Mama's Web site and watched the tutorials.
I also found that the tutorials contained not only information on how to properly use the action, but also contained other uses for the same action as well as helpful tips and tricks!
Of the actions included in the Studio Portrait Pack I must say that I found the makeup actions (Mama's Lip Gloss Optimizer, Mama's Lipstick, Mama's Powders, Mama's Sparkles) to be the most astounding. Just a few swipes over the skin after running the powder action will make the worst skin look great! What a difference they make!
I also have very much enjoyed fine tuning my look with Mama's Gaussian Blur action. While I understood how to use the technique, Mama's tutorial made it much more understandable just how it worked.
In addition to purchasing Mama's Studio Portrait Pack, I also purchased the Lenoir's Full Pack Lash Brushes and I must say that I am so impressed! They look wonderful and actually took me very little time to master!"

They are a great time saver in post-processing. I haven't used them all yet but my favorite ones so far is your Mama's Silk Powder, Mama's Rouge and Mama's Tanner actions. I highly recommend them for any studio!"

"Mama Shan, Mama's Powder Action (the Original) is fantastic!
It has helped me streamline my workflow and increased my ability to deliver better portraits.
A client can't guarantee they will be blemish free for their shoot, but now I can give them portraits where they remember the experience NOT their imperfections!
With the ease of use and adjust-ability, I have the choice of creating model perfect complexions or simply enhance a client's appearance with minimal improvement.
It works for men, women and children making it the perfect post-production tool. I wish I knew about it 2 years ago, but I am sure I will make up for lost time :) I LOVE it!!!
I have used it once on 2 corporate portraits shot last week. I even used it on the male subject to take down the shine on his forehead. So far I have not experimented with the full blown retouch you demonstrate on your site (which is fantastic!!!) and have just used the powder.
I wish I knew about this 2 years ago since it has saved me a ton of time just on the first two projects. Thank you for a brilliant solution to faking great skin. Your powder action rocks!"
I would probably have been happy to pay $30 for this set since it allows me to quickly correct complexions and lets me create full-scale magazine retouching effects or more realistic (yet still much better) skin for portrait clients and brides."
